RG with an XL27" Scale Neck?
Is anyone aware of the model number of a 7 string RG with an XL27" Scale Neck, I know this guitar exists but I can't find it, and BOY do I want it.
Cheers for your time folks!

used to be the 1077xl while it was stateside. when it was discontinued here, they introduced it with the new trem abroad as the 2077xl. I kinda want one.

Ah...that's right. I've been out of the loop with Ibanez lately.

Discontinued? Typical of the shift towards budget 7 strings in ibanez's line isn't it. Not that I'm against high quality cheap guitars, I just don't wanna buy them and look like a kid
I'l just go with a 6 string MMM1 Baritone...

It's been my experience as a guitarist that it doesn't matter WHAT you look like, just what you play. I wouldn't worry so much.
And the 1527 is hardly a "cheap" guitar... just a bargain.

The 1527's neck is just 1.5" too short.

haha, I actually have a 1527, and I love it, just find the scale a tad to short.
I was refering to guitars like the RG 321 and such

Yeah, there is the RG1077XLRB. I own one and there are some used around. The XL neck is awesome. Tightens up the sound. I use 11's and it's perfect. I think the RG2077 has the XL neck. Check the Ibanez website.

Ibanez made the 470XL (6 string), 7421XL (7 string non-trem), 1077XL and 2077XL (both 7 string with trem). All of the 7 string XL's were terrific guitars, the 6 string less so. I owned a 7421XL until FedEx crushed it and it was just a great guitar for the money. And if you want to sped a WHOLE LOT lot more, I make both 6 strings and 7 strings with the same scale length and similar
neck shape
to the 7421XL.
