RG1527 colors . . . so confusing

I bought RG1527 of mid 2004 and at the time I bought it there was only one color option called "cosmic blue" (CB). On the canadian portion of the website I could clearly see it was some kind of blue, but when it arrived I noticed it was actually kind of dark sparkle purple/black. I did a litle research to soon dicover it was some color called "galaxy black". Now I'm confused. Until now Ihave only seen 2 different colors on 1527's : Royal Blue (RB) for 2005 models and Cosmic Blue (CB or "Galaxy Black"???) for 2004 models. But when I look around it seems that there is three different colors available:"Cosmic Blue","Royal Blue" and "Galaxy Black". But what bugs me even more is that the tag that was on my 1527 when I recieved it told it was a "RG1527CB Prestige". but it was purple. And whats even more confusing is that on Rich's site, the 2005NAMM pics shows the 2005 RG1527 in another color that appears to be like blue/greenish sparkle . . . I would like to clear this up and your help would really be appreciated!!!

The same thing with me.I bought one that said it was royal blue on the website and when the guitar came it was purple.It's a beatiful guitar,but they could at least give us the right info.When I looked at the reciept,it says rg1527cobalt blue.Strange,huh?

It's Cosmic Blue, not Cobalt Blue, and yeah, it's more of a purple than a blue - there's a LOT of disuccion abotu this on the forum.

It's also now available in royal blue this year, as CB's been discontinued.

I always thought the Cosmic Blue was not a bad color. I've seen Royal Blue in person and that's not a bad color at all too.

There's a 4th color available on European 1527's that is a sparkle black (not sure what it's called) and also the European 1527's had a thicker "Ultra" neck.

Probably best to do a forum search.

I know it's insane.The reciept says Cobalt Blue.Someone screwed up.Oh well,I still love it.

That color is Galaxy Black, which the original post mentioned.

I knew someone that had a 7620 Royal Blue and that color is pleasing to the eye in person.

the royal blue is very nice in person, mine seems to shift colors about as good as the newer mirage blue

the cosmic blue is the 2002?-2004 model. it is the dark purple sparkle color. there is no cobalt blue. people thought it was called that but it was really cosmic blue. the royal blue was made this years color. the galaxy black was the 1527 model only sold in japan. the sparkle black is the same thing just a wrong name for the galaxy black. i know everyone else already cleared it up but im just puttin it all into one conclusion .

The Galaxy Black is supposed to have an Ultra neck.

cosmic blue isnt actually blue at all! i got one and when people ask what colour it is (non guitar folk im talkin about here) i saw sparkly bark purple. the guy that called that colour blue must have REALLY bad eyesight!
