RG2027 Pickups & Gotoh Straplocks- Looking for some....

Now I know there are a bunch of you that also have an RG2027, and I know that MOST of you HATE the pickups it came with and have changed out to Norton's/Steve's/TZ's, etc....

Well, these pickups actually work PERFECTLY with my amp setup, so I'm thinking about changing out the pickups in my 2 RG7620's, so the tone will match between the guitars. The 7620 p'ups are a bit too hot for my setup. Barring the possibility of the different body woods making it not sound the same, I want to try them out anyway.....

Anybody have their p'ups still and are willing/aching (hehe) to part with them?

Also, the Gotoh straplocks that came with the 2027... Anyone have a set or two that they don't like and are also willing to part with? From what I can tell, they aren't on the market....if they are, please POINT. Thanks.

you know, my understanding was that the pickups are the same in the 2027 and the 7620... That said, if you want to try another set of pickups from a 7620, i've got a set that i've been using as paperweights that i'll be willing to let go for cheap...

(alternative #2 is just to lower them a little, of course)

One the spec sheet they are listed with different pickups. You can tell by the sound, too. The p/u's in the 7620 are completely different from the 2027. But thanks anyhow...

GuitarGod, I just sent you a PM. I've got a set of the 2027 pickups that I won't be using. Let me know if you're interested.

Well, keep in mind the 2027 is mahogany, while the 7620 is basswood- that's going to account for a lot of the difference there. I'll take a look, i thought they were both "custom 7"/"new 7" (same pickup renamed)'s, though...

My bad, the 2027 ships with ibanez V7/V8 7-string pickups- the 7 version of the stock ibanez pickups on, well, just about everything else, lol.

Here's a thought- those pu's also come in the 7420- contact a FEW 7420 owners, and ask if they'd be willing to do a pickup swap with you, with them tossing in a bit of cash to sweeten the deal- they get dimarzio's, and you get the ones you want, PLUS some money thrown in for good measure. :-D

Nope, I believe the 2027 is "V7-7" and "V8-7".
