RG7321 EMG 707

Ok I read a review on the RG7321, and in the guy's review he said "Be prepared to have some work done to it if you want the EMG 707's, though other humbucking pickups should fit with no problems"
(http://reviews.harmony-central.com/r...ez/RG7321/10/1) (The 3rd review)

Anyone have any clue what that would mean?

Does anyone have EMG 707s in their RG7321?

Re: RG7321 EMG 707

What it means is that, if you want to get a RG7321 and fit EMG 707s on them, you need to do some extra routing to the pickup cavity, because 707s are bigger in size and dimension. Also, you need to do extra routing at the back of the guitar for the 9volt batteries for the EMGs.

If you were to install other types of pickups like Dimarzios, the existing pickup routings are good to go, no extra routing needed.

Re: RG7321 EMG 707

Well I already bought them off **** ($20, couldn't pass it up)

I'll just turn around and sell 'em.

Maybe put a Dimarzio in the bridge and maybe the neck. Maybe an EVO or Blaze. I want a good one for heavy distortion and a good one for clean. Probably bridge for heavy distortion (so I can strum the strings harder) and the neck for the clean.

Unless I have to keep every d*** college textbook this semester without being able to sell them back for a full refund. College is too expensive.

You don't need to route for the battery. It fits easily in the electronics cavity. Just wrap the battery in some of the foam that comes in the box with the EMGs and it's fine. You can in fact fit two nine volt batteries in there!
