RG7420 whammy bars

I know there are many RG7420 owners out there who have had trouble with the bar provided with the guitar. Many players, myself included, were given the standard Ibanez bar that was used in the Edge/Lo Pro Edge trems.

So imagine my surprise when I was surfing the net looking at Ibanez parts and came across this: http://www.ibanez.com/parts/2000_PAR...5B.htm#2LT2-1B

Seems I, along with a bunch of others, was given the wrong bar. Whoops. I ordered the correct one and it arrived today. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Re: RG7420 whammy bars

No idea! When I bought the guitar I asked if it was the right one and they said it was. But I was quite suspicious when the bar sat about an inch higher than every other guitar on the market, and moved about 45 degrees in the socket before making the bridge move!

Re: RG7420 whammy bars

I got the correct screw-in bar with my 7420. It's actually pretty snug, and there's little to no play between bar and trem. Not as good as an Edge, but still pretty decent.

Yeah, it's at least better than the Lo TRS II in the RG320 I got real cheap and keep tuned to C# when I feel like playing "Bad Horsie" every couple of months.

IT'S THE SAME TREM SYSTEM 7420 AND 320 BOTH HAVE LO TRS II.

Re: RG7420 whammy bars

Nah, the RG7420 has LO TRS 7, which has a completely different bar and attachment. The LO TRS II has a screw-on collar. The 7 doesn't have a collar, the bar itself screws in. The 7's bar is much more like the regular Edge one in shape, while the TRS II is bent inwards a bit more.
