RG7420MC - any comments?

Hi, I am still contemplating between a RG7420MC and the higher end 7620....any users of the RG7420? Any comments?How 'bad' is the lo TRS as commented by many? Is the 7620 (which is at least 250bucks more) worth the bucks for the bridge and the pickups? I could get a 7420 for 400bucks I think....but the 7620 will kill me with shipping etc.....

If you use or plan on using the trem then you would be better off getting the 7620. If you don't use the trem and you wanna block it off then just go for a 7421 or a 7621. If you like having your strings locked up and your trem blocked then think about 7420 as an option. I got my 7620 for $550(used) so just look around and see what you can find. If you find a 7420 for $350(used) or less then if you want go for it but I would not pay more than that.

If it comes down to a fixed bridge, the 7421 is JUST AS GOOD as the 7621. I've played many 7621's and none of them did I see a $250 dollar worth improvement.
Plus the 7621 is discounted anyway. Unless your REALLY picky about your hardware, because they do have different bridges. The 7621 has the GTC which is a high-end standard fixed bridge. The GTC-Jr. is considered a more mid-range quailty fixed bridge but to me it couldnt be any better. Stays in tune great and sounds great.

P.S- This is assuming changing p/u's to whatever you perfer. I wouldn't perfer the New-7's OR the Ibanez so I'm not taking that into account.

I have a 7621, and the bridge doesn't look very high-end.

Similar to what Noodles said, if you are willing to shop around and not afraid of Ebay, you should be able to find a nice 7620 for $500 (or less) + around $25 shipping.

For me the extra money would be worth it, but its up to you how important the trem is.

Stoopid, do you have problems with it at all?? I've only been able to test out 7621's in stores and not really see how well the bridges hold up. I've been trying to figure out if there really is much of a difference between the GTC and GTC Jr.... Can you recommend the absolute highest end bridge that I can buy??? Because customizing my RG7 I want the best bridge for it but I'm not sure yet at where the GTC's stand up to other bridges. I was going to order the String Saver saddles because I heard that many artists use them just for the tone and I figure they could probably use anything they want so those must be nice.

*The reason why I'm kinda confused is because I don't expect anything more out of my bridges. I think they do the job great. But you know its like the question we always ask ourselves...Is there something I'm missing?? Like a piece of gear that I would love but I just dont know about it. Some people say the bridge doesnt really matter anyway so who knows...heh...

http://www.mannmadeusa.com/fixed.htm i don't know the quality but for $250 it should be high end. carvin also makes fixed string bridges for like $45 or so depending on color.

$250!!! No way. That is all rip-off. Unless someone has actually bought one of these and finds it completely worth that kind of money. Thats pretty crazy. I'm happy with my bridges just fine. I think I'm gonna invest in some of those String Saver Saddles but thats about it. The base plates are fine. Actually I do need a black base plate for the AX7 but I'll probably just go to Carvin for that. Thanks for the suggestion!

The ultimate quality in fixed bridges is Schaller, but they don't make 7-string bridges.

I am still considering between the lo pro edge on the 7620GN or just make do with the lo TRS on the 7420MC...i do need the whammy definitely..if not I would rather go for a ESP or schecter...in fact i have a A7plus (Schecter) but i dun really like the floyd rose trem on it cos it KEEPS going outta tune even after several setup attempts......so I thought I turned to Ibanez.....it seems that the lo pro is THE BEST ard...n the lo TRS is really low end thats what i heard..cos it keeps getting outta tune.......seriously....any users out there? any comments?

Actually I was just on Warmoth's site and they have brass fixed string bridges pretty cheap too. *They look like they're pretty high quality.

Don't turn to a 7420 for tuning problems. You'll have more. Trust us.

I don't think brass is the way to go...I've heard more bad things about it then good...

p.s- As for the 7620, if you have the $$$, go for it. You wont regret it.
