RG7620 pickups???

Hello everybody, I've bought my first Ibanez!
I hope you would be able to answer me...

In this site, which is really complete and very interesting, I can read that the pickups are DiMarzio "New 7".
"These are the original pickups introduced with the RG7620.These are USA made by DiMarzio, exclusively for Ibanez production. They are not available from DiMarzio.
DiMarzio Custom 7 - same as the New 7 (neck and bridge) but renamed to avoid customer confusion for the 2001 lineup".

But, in the 1999 Ibanez site, they mention: "Features include a light weight basswood body, direct mount DimarzioŽ Blaze II pickups"
http://web.archive.org/web/199904180...z.com/rg7.html
And when you click on the specifications: NECK PICKUP DIMARZIO 7, BRIDGE PICKUP DIMARZIO 7...
I've send a mail to DiMarzio for knowing the specifications of the "New 7" and the response was: "I am sorry, but we do not maintain these specs for OEM pickups. The bridge pickup is pretty similar in performance and specs to a Super Distortion (DP100), and the neck pickup is similar to a Super 2 (DP104)". Is it right?

So, what are definitely the DiMarzio pickups on the RG7620???

My guitar's color is Grey Nickel...so, it's a 2000's model. Am I wrong?
At this time, is it 1-piece mapple or 3-piece???

If a specialist could be able to answer...
Thank you very much! (and sorry for this very long message...)

p.s. if some sentences seems to be "bizarre", that must be cause by my poor english...

Re: RG7620 pickups???

from what I have gathered they were never shipped with Blaze's that was a typo that obviously made it to print before it was changed.

How do you like the pickups.. Im getting a set to throw in my 7321

Yeah, I believe they are 'New 7' pickups. Congrats on your first Ibanez and it being a 7620! That was my first 7-string I bought and I still have it after 8 years, it is a great guitar. I actually have 2 7620s.

Pics of my first (was Black)- http://www.shawncastonguay.com/rg7620.html

I put white Blaze humbuckers in my white custom 7620 and they sound different than the stock pickups, so I know for sure, the stock pickups aren't Blazes.

Re: RG7620 pickups???

First, thank you very much!

Well, my opinion after...one day...
I'm agree with these pickups, the sound is for me very good.
The outpout level is not very high, but the pickups are precis, net and balanced. For someone who wants to play deathmetal I think the've got not enough "punch" in distortion, and for the clean sounds like funky styles or jazzy, not enough clarity or brilliance.
But I'm happy with them even there are sweet and reserved. For clean and distortions in styles like Dream Theater and so they do their job...
I prefer the Air Norton and Steve's Special on my Jackson guitar, but the identity of DiMarzio appears well with this Ibanez.
Honestly, I don't think I'll change the pickups...
The body is pleasant, the neck's very confortable and the finition is good.
Well I think it's really a good guitar!
Just like you, Flobanez, I think the Grey Nickel the best colour for this model...
My first seven-string guitar:
