Talking about my 6-string or the starter's 7-string?

I just sanded down the body/headstock, showed some heatgun to them, added red/brown -ish stain and cleared the whole thing. Simple and fun, though I hate clearcoating. Can't do it well.

I wouldn't go through the process and then add a pickguard, but if you MUST get a pickguard I'd go with a non-reflective clear. Why detract from the coolness?

Since your pickups have black pole pieces and black (not cosmo) hardware, I think the smoked mirror will look better.
