I picked up Ishibashi's last DBK (deep black model) back in December; during that time they informed me that the RG8527 had been discontinued.

I was hoping the 1527 was gonna be mahog. 8527-1527 see what I mean? Kinda dissapointed. Grab a used 2027.

i second the 2027 move, the mahogany does make a difference. but basswood aint that disimilar, just needs to be eq'd different, but im already saving up for another 2027 though

I can say my basswood Revenger-7 (Schecter) sounds really heavy, and that's even with the stock pickups, so I don't think you'll have to worry about it. I can make the cieling shake, in fact, there's sometimes too much bass. And that's through a 1x12, 60-watt combo. Here's an example (direct recorded with my Line6 Flextone II, Recto2 and Line6 Clean patches, into my Tascam 424).

@ strecther
yes, same here... at least lets hope it will have the same neck profile as the 2027, and also other finishes. that blue sparkle (or so) looked kinda *** to me on rich's namm report photo.

@ vendetta

edit: and btw how can i get that mahog fat sound with a basswood guitar? the evo/tz pickups seem to be a part of the solution. but is it really effective?
