Not much different than Tom Morello playing his strat with an Edge in it.

Even Floyd Rose said the Edge was the best floating trem made.

This guitar is on that auction site now....

Jackson made it that way. If you supply the bridge, they'll put it on for you. It's an old school Custom shop in that regard

I guess no one noticed that he brought this up earlier in the thread and it is a LoPro Edge 7...

That's awesome Jim, do you know if that's how the shop operates to this day? It would be nice if Carvin and Suhr would do that as well.

Re: Rusty Cooley's Jackson 7 string

Carvin only allows the changes they already have programmed in their CNC machines. I honestly don't know for Suhr. Jackson used to do anything, including letting you draw a shape on a napkin and they'd make it for you I'm not sure if they would still do an Ibanez trem for non-endorsers though, but they should. I think the only things they definitely won't do are Explorers, and shipping without pickups.

the thing to consider here is not the fact the ALL of Rusty's songs are 7 strings. What needs to be considered is the Rusty has made some amazing designs to the new dean guitar that will give aspiring shredders the opportunity to play fast with a guitar right out of the box. the neck design, the cutaways, the pickups, the wood selection..

whether its a 6,7, or 8 string these features are all great.

and yes i know Rusty. i talk to him 4-5 times a week as well as take lessons and provide all of his computer support so when i say there will be a six string take my word on it.. thats from his mouth not mine...

nate

If you still speak to Rusty 4-5 times a week, can you ask him why his dean 7 string still isn't available when it was announced over a year ago? Why make a 6 and 8 when they can't tell if the 7 string will sell?

Re: Rusty Cooley's Jackson 7 string

Since Fender acquired Jackson, things have become more strict overall. The Custom Shop is still a LOT more flexible than the Fender Custom Shop, but it's not like it was back in the day before the acquisition.

I also see the RC7 every week. I've compared it side by side with my Jems and it blows them out of the water. The recessed lower horn is one of my favorite features of the guitar. No more *ouch* when you're string skipping long stretches in the upper registers of the fretboard.

That's easy to say considering it's a custom guitar, but can you ask him when the mass produced ones will be available? o_O.
