Yeah, the nerves part was the one that got me, too. Especially considering this is an RG2027. But knowing you guys did it well, without difficulties, inspires my confidence. Plus I'm pretty handy, so it should go well.

I also found a place that sells 707 mounting rings. Sure, they're purely decorative, but that takes a bit of pressure off because the route doesn't HAVE to be picture perfect.

absolutely, the rings are a great idea. I would get the rings before routing, this way you can use them to trace on the wood, and tape off.

Yea, I saw that place, 'fretsonthenet', the rings look prettty nice.

I was thinking about getting some as well... but I am also thinking of painting the S pearl white first, chrome rings and hardware would look nice with that.
