Unhappy

sad story

I work in a recording studio in L.A. (Lower Alabama), Tracks in the Sand, and last week we had a break-in. A total of 4 guitars were stolen and a Playstation 2. One of the guitars was my loved uv777bk. We were lucky that the perps did not steal anything else (i.e. our Rode and Nuemann mics, numerous out board gear, or take a piss on our console. The good news is that we are insured; so I will be able to replace my guitar, if we never find it, so if anyone around my area sees a uv777bk in a pawn shop, please get back to me! Thanks

p.s. the arm holder for the Tremalo bar is broken

Damn, that's harsh man. You did the right thing by insuring it. Hope you'll get it back.

Re: sad story

That's terrible, I know how it feels -
A few years ago my bands van got stolen and we lost everything (including my 2 jems), police found the van empty a few days later. Insurance wouldn't pay out because it was in a van, and we've never heard of any of it again (police weren't really interested to be honest, even though about £25,000 worth of gear was stolen). We all scraped and borrowed money etc and got out gigging again within a week, but it cost us alot as you can imagine. And it's a really horrible feeling. The 2 jems I have were both heavily customised by me, so I felt particularly gutted as I couldn't replace either of them.
Hope you get some back, but at least you are insured if not,
Rich

Re: sad story

Anyone that steals guitars should have their fingers lobbed off. If they're to take away something that means alot to another person, then they themselves shouldn't be able to put their fingers to good use

If you're going to take away someone's pride and love, then you need a good... hmm [censored]

Hope you get them back though

Re: sad story

post the serial #'s so we are aware here as we Jemsiters are ALL over the net and ALL over the world so maybe it will surface.
sorry to hear that man. i have nightmares about such things. i would have trouble replacing ANY of my stuff right now. i need to check into renters insurance for my townhouse. i currnetly keep most of my gear (amps, pedals) with all the band equipment at a different location but i just couln't imagine the lost feeling and anger i would have if this happened to me. i hate to feel so strongly about possesions/things but my gear/guitars are so much an extension of myself.

Re: sad story

that broke my heart hearin that!! if one of my guitars got nicked i wouldnt know what to do, and none of em cost close to a UV777bk!! my recommendation: learn a martial art and raid local gigs/ places that u hear about a band and when u track one down with a UV approach the guitarist at the end and be like "nice guitar, can i look it over?" then that small scratch u put in the back by accident (we all have an ickle one!!) and the trem holder is buggered then wham, knock him to the floor and you keep him pinned and get the police in to resolve it!!
