Congrats on the new (to you) geetar. I've had mine for a few years now and have developed quite a love/hate relationship (see other threads on my problems with it).

Let me know if you have any of the same issues with that one as i have with mine.

Thanks, guys!

I'm really enjoying it so far. Its neck feels quite similar to my Dean EVO 7, and is incredibly easy to play. I don't play a lot of acoustic guitars, but i'm very impressed with the playability of it. The action is nice and low and the neck shape is very comfortable.

bchaney: I hear what you're saying about the intonation problems on the lower strings. Chords are noticeably out of tune above the 5th fret. I'll probably take it to my local guitar shop and have one of the luthiers fit it with a custom compensated saddle, which should fix it. I'm surprised Ibanez didn't put compensated saddles on them at the factory.

I'd like to get settled on strings that i'll use consistently before i get the custom saddle made.

As far as string weight goes, I'm using a D'Addario .066 for the low B, and its still too light. I think either a .068 or a .070 would do the trick.

I'll have to look into a compensated saddle as well. I just need to find a luthier.

Darren, have you experienced any problems with the neck? Mine plays perfectly on every fret EXCEPT for the 13th fret on the 7th string, where it is unplayable because of the buzz.

No problems with the neck... no dead spots at all.

I just did some tinkering with the tuning and found that the bottom string intonates a lot better if i tune it at the 12th fret instead of the open position. It's not perfect, but i can at least play chords now without it sounding totally off.

The .056 on the bottom definitely needs to be heavier. Still rattles around a bit, especially open. I do like the easy playability of it with this gauge on it, though!

Nice score!! My new year's resolution is to add an acoustic 7 and a 7 with single-single-humbucker pups to the arsenal.

Congrats - how about some mp3s soon?

Dear lord... i use that on my electric, and it's with a set of 9's. Go heavier!
