Schecter C-7FR issue

Okay, just got a Schecter C-7FR for dirt cheap. It looks new, but the bar on the Floyd is very stiff. Any ideas before I tear the thing apart?

Re: Schecter C-7FR issue

Well the entire thing cost under $100 so I'm not too miffed, but the licensed Floyd on this thing is LAAAAMMMMEEEEE. The trem arm wouldn't move easily because the end was the same size as the hole - zero tolerance. Great for space shuttles, not so great for a Floyd. Took 45 minutes of back and forth to get it to release. Replaced it with an actual Floyd arm with a screw cap and no more problems here. Next, with all five factory springs in, a set of 10-56's caused the bridge to tilt forward even with the claw all the way in. Replaced the Slinky springs with three heavy duties and now everything works. Still not a big fan of active pups, and this thing can't match my Peavey Predator TR7 let alone my Ibbys, but it's a fun toy to play around with.

Well it was made in China so maybe I overpaid. lol I talked the guy down to $90. The way it was setup it would not play, and from handling it I was unsure I could salvage the licensed Floyd so I made the offer thinking I would have to buy and install a Floyd 7. He clearly wanted to get rid of it badly. And I checked with Schecter and the serial does not come up as stolen.
