So how thick are the RG7620/621's neck?

I have played the RG7420 and I love the neck on that. I heard RG7620/621's neck is alot thicker. Why would they call it a Wizard neck than if it's the same as the Universe's. I am sorry but 21 inch's from the first fret on a 7-string is too thick for me. The RG7420's neck is perfect. Should I just buy a RG7421 than since the RG7420's trem isn't really good?

the necks are the same on the 76 and 74's as far as i know, there have been quite a few neck threads on this ... Try searching it may find what your looking for

I have an RG7620 and a UV777BK and feel no discernable differance between them if that helps at all?

no difference between a 7420 and a 777bk?? well you gotta have self adapting/morphing hands!
they both suck imo, too flat it hurts my hands, and too thick (for the UV) to have my hand comfy in any way.

not necessarily. The 420 is spec'd with a Wizard II, i believe. And while the 7620/7420's Wizard-7 definately feels thicker than the original Wizard, i haven't played a Wizard II in long enough to really be able to compare the two.

I just want to know why the specs say 21.5'' or whatever from the first fret on this site. The wizard should be 17''. 21.5'' from the first fret is even thicker than a wizard-ll profile. Why would they make the Wizard-7 necks thicker? Wouldn't they just want to keep it the same size?

There was something very odd too that I noticed. There were two RG7420's at a local Sam Ash. One with the Bubinga stripe and one without. The one with bubinga strip was noticably thinner than the other RG7420 without. This didn't make sense to me.

First off, you can't trust the dimensions that Ibanez puts out about the 7's. Whether on their website or in a catalog. So forget what you've read. What I have felt myself is bubinga striped 7's are the thinnest profile. an RG 7421 is my reference. and the 7620 (no stripe) and modern UV feel the same, thicker at the edges. original UV's have a thinner profile than modern ones. one exception is the new RG 1527, which has a stripe but felt thick at the edges like a modern UV to me.
