strings for my new 7 string baritone (1077xl)

hi all,

new to my 7 string, i bought it of ebay... great guitar and i'm very happy with it. it's an RG1077XL (7 string baritone).

on a 6 string tuned normal, i prefer D'Addario 10's. this beast is tuned low ... Drop G. what kind of strings will give me the feel i'm used to? i think the former owner had 12's on it. it feels wicked tight. i want to keep up the Drop G but lighten the feel.

i also had a 6 string tuned to C and used heavy strings for that to keep it from feeling loose.

but where this is a baritone, do i still need to get heavier strings to keep the feel tight? the extended scale is supposed to take care of slack issues, so i assume i could go back to 10's + a special guage for the low G?

please advise.... thanks!!!

Yeah; the longer scale means you can use lighter strings for a given pitch.

I`d go for 11/12 and a 65-68 for the low G.

It will be impossible to find appropriate strings. The only solution is to box up your guitar and send it to me.
