Stupid guy at pawn shop - How do i prove its an RG7620?????

How can i prove to the dood at cash convertors that the
guitar is a 7620, not a 7420???? I dont have any paper or anything and they both look identical 2 me.... I need the money 2 buy a uv777bk... How much better is the universe than the RG?? C if i get 700 bux for it here (list here(uk) is like £1000) then that gives me about 1k dollars..could i get a universe 4 that???? i dont mind things dat r beat up

ok man the easiest way to tell a 620 from a 420 is pickups and the routing around them
well and the floyed rose...
the nice one.. has a edge tremlo which is molded of metal and is a lot thicker.. also the humbuckers on it have adjustable pole pices.. (which means they have a hollow pole to stick a allen wrench in) plus the routing is in a triangle shape around the where it is bolted in..

on the cheap one the pickups polls are flat (non adjustable) the routing is a deep U.. and the tremlo is a pressed metal (inferior) ....
with the 621 and 421 just look at the pickups...
hope that helped

With all due respect, proving something to a pawn shop *guy is maybe not the best route to go...I wish you all the best

I believe the newer 7620's do have the bubinga strip, don't they? I'm sure i've seen an RG7620GN with the strip. I could be mistaken, of course.

One of the key visual differences with the pickups is that the bobbins on the 7620 are monted on black plates, whereas the 7420's look like they have brass back plates.

Not to mention the colors that are available in each model, in 99 the 2 colors mentioned on Ibanez's site were VK (vampire kiss red) and BK (Black) then in 2k GN for the 7620.
On the 7420 the options were BP and MC a strange poop brown metallic color and a pinker hue of red than the VK.

Trems are actually the lo pro edge 7 for the 620 and the lo trs 7 for the 420.

Pickups are the Blaze for 620 and V&-7's on the 420

again you will note the differences in the trems quality, *the pickups, and the routing and some hardware.
Seriously, I would try to sell the 620 online via Harmony central, ****, or some other means. Pawnshops here bend you over and use driveway gravel, no niceties to speak of. Either way, I hope I have helped in some way. best of luck.

If the guys is tryin got sell a 7620 that he believes is a 7420 that is his problem. The 620 should fetch more money for it than a 420. If you want it, agree with him. Tell him the 420 is not worth as much as a 620. Hopefully you will get it cheaper.

Well said. I consider l33tsPeAk more obnoxious than cursing and less inteligent than (EDIT-possibly racially offensive content). I see a member ban forthcoming on any posts with this material.

allyrulez (and others reading) you will have to post in readable English. Thanks... glen

e133t=elite. A very obnoxious and unclever "language" for people with too much time on a computer. It's like a bad parody now. People know 133tspeak yet don't know how to formulate sentances or use words like "they're" vs "their" vs "there" properly... glen

hehe. The grammar/spelling police is in mourning over the passing of Discus. It came too close to that Egypt prank from his buds at HarmonyC. We have a two week reprieve to make spelling "mistakz" here. ..glen
