switching from 10-60 to 11-58 or 11-60?

right now I have a rg7421xl 27" scale baritone 7-string with ghs 10-60 (10-46 with a 60 for the low b) but i've been pondering switching heavier, perhaps to ernie ball 11-58 or dean markley 11-60, but I don't want any of my playing to be sacrificed. Does anybody know if these strings will be much more difficult to play than the others, and if it's a good idea to switch from the string gauge i already am using or not? I mainly play hard/heavy rock/metal, and i mainly use standard BEADGBE tuning, but I will also occassionally tune to BEADF#BE, AEADGBE, ADADGBE, or AEADF#BE thanks.

you know, as long as we're on the subject, i've also been pondering switching to heavier picks too. right now I use ultex 1.0 mm picks, but i'm thinking bout starting to use 1.14 mm ultex picks. Anybody have any input?

I use GHS Boomers .011 to .070 (a Medium .011 to .050 set plus a .070 low B from the Zakk Wylde signature set) and Dunlop Big Stubby 2.0mm or 3.0mm picks.

And i still find it too easy to play.

Mind you, it's on a 25.5" scale guitar... maybe i need to move up to an XL-scale instrument, or just give up altogether and start playing bass.
