Thinkin of buyin the LTD SC 607

I just got some tax money heh...just enough to afford one of the sc 607. Has anyone tried one yet?
I know most of you prefer the natural coloured one...I have a couple of pretty bad pics of that one...does it have the same shape as the black one...like the same cutaways?
Anyone got a good pic of it?
Cause I really like the looks of the black one, but I would love a natural coloured guitar.

Thanx

I'd say go for it. Looks like a great guitar to me. I really wish I could afford one And yea, they're both the same shape.

And sam, what's with all the plugs for Conklin?

Isn't the COnklin a 25.5 inch scale? The SC607 has a 27 inch scale. THat makes it an etrely different instrument.

I'd like to try the 607 as well, but no one here in Portland is even remotely interested in bringing one in. I wonder if it's a better guitar than the Ibanez 7421XL which is currently the only other fixed bridge 27 inch scale 7 string I know of? You can pick up a 7421XL for $500 new right now, so the price difference is about $300. My concerns with the 607 are mostly about the position of the front pickup. It's basically where you would expect a middle pickup to be with nothing in the neck position. Since there's no front cavity, changing that would be realy tough if th middle position didn't do it for you. That's the one reason why I'm not willing to buy it without trying it.

Trust me, that 1.5 inches makes a huge difference. A 27 inch scale may not be for everyone, but it really does make the 7 string a different instrument and in my mind a much better one.

Yea I agree with that, I love my 7421XL, and I'm really interrested in tryin out the mid pup. I think it'll sound pretty good, and different from my other guitars. I also really want the EMG 81-7 pups.
I read a test from guitarplayer...the only con was that you had to unscrew 2 screws to change the battery...I think i can live with that.
As soon as I have my tax in the bank...I'm ordering one.

i know it does make a difference, but still, the conklin sounds better compared to most sevens (longer scaled excepted)
