Thoughts on using a trashed BC Rich 7
An ex band mate of mine trashed his 7 string Mockingbird at a bad gig, cracking the body and neck. I was wondering if it was worth buying the remnants cheap as a base for a custom 7 string?
Ideally I'd like to add the bits to an ATD body but I'm not sure that'll work. The BCR site lists the mockingbird 7 as having a 25.4" scale length and 25 frets, which sounds a bit odd?
Is this worth persuing or is it a waste of time? Given that the only salvagable bits would be the hardware & electronics (which probably aren't great quality).

25.4" scale and 25 frets? That's very odd...

That's what I thought..
But it's what the BC Rich site says:
http://www.bcrich.com/mock/mockspecs.html
Rob - I'm still waiting for him to upload pics of the damage, I'll let you know when I get them. I'll remind him tonight because I'm going to see him play at Elektrowerkz in london.

Here's a link to some pics of the trashed guitar (and my mate posing with the Warlock he got to replace it).
-=Broken Guitar=-
Apparently the
locking nut
is glued in place, which explains how it popped out of position without tearing out the bolts heh. The fretboard has come away from the neck too.
So it looks like maybe the neck is repairable, it's just the body that's cracked.

It's a Warlock shape though isn't it? I do like that shape, ever since a spoilt schoolfriend got one for christmas years ago, and then Tippexed (Tippex=WhiteOut in the US?) inverted crosses down the neck
Anyway. He's agreed to sell me the damaged Mockingbird for £50
