Tremsetter On a 7

I bought one of these on the hunch that it will work on my 7620(its the Hipshot tremsetter), and if it does, i'll get one for my 1527 when i get it and for my ESP later on too.
But is it pretty easy to install?

Just checkin in on it. All considering i should have done this before ordering. i was thinking of getting a WD-1 but the guy from the website said it doesnt work on the 7620 style bridge.

The Hipshot requires a hole to be drilling into the spring cavity, behind where the claw is mounted. You need to buy a really long bit so that the angle of the hole isn't too steep. Setting it up properly is kind of tricky too. So no, I wouldn't say easy.
I have one of the WD TS1's too. I put it in my Universe at one time. It did work, I don't know what your guy is talking about. The WD is a different concept than the Hipshot. The WD is somewhat like blocking, except that you can pull up on the trem, but with some effort.

Judging by the literature i read online, i think i can do the installation without any trouble. Can you (Or anyone) provide some feedback on the unit itself?
like does not having all 3 springs adversly affect it? what are any disadvantages? Does it work well?
Would you put them on your other guitars, that kind of thing.

I had the Hipshot in a Strat I made with Warmoth parts. The dealbreaker for me was that it was so stiff. I would not consider putting it a guitar. The feel of the trem was gone.

The big advantage if you can live with stiff trem action is double stop bends are in tune.

Someone over at my forums checked, and they say that the tremsetter will NOT work with the 7620.

I tried to see if i could get any more response here.
I emailed the guy a picture of my trem cavity and stuff and said 'will it work here?' and he said no. so thats all i got out of him.

Edit: Since double stop bends stay in tune, does it also hold up well when you play really aggressive rythms on it? ( Think Iced Earth, Slayer, Fast oldschool metallica type riffing)

It will kill the "flutter" from the strings being struck hard. It won't stop the strings from going sharp when struck hard however. Even fixed bridges will go sharp when struck hard.

ah, thats cool, thats one of the aspects i was looking for. I prefer floyds to fixed bridge, but the more i play guitar, the more inconsistencies in notice in the floyds, and when i saw the tremsetter, it just seemed like a brialliant idea. I dont want to ever have to switch to a fixed bridge guitar, so this seems like a good idea.

I put the tremsetter in myself (not that hard at all, even took some pictures during the process, thinking it was gonna be more involving)...

I love it. It doesnt fell too stiff, there's still lotsa play with the bar, and best of all, the double bends are in perfect tune, and the strings are stayin in tune a bit better, damn, im gonna be ordering more of these.

Out of the back of the older S Series guitars. they dont sell them individually, i believe... and contrary to the auction ( I might be wrong) but i dont see how it prevents trem sag (the bridge raising when you do bends)

tremsetter basically gives you the advantages of a fixed bridge guitar, and it will stay in tune even if you break a string. If you bend, the bridge doesnt come forward, either. So yes,it prevents sag.
