UV Neck on a 7620?

I lucked into a 99 7620 for next to nothing, just needed some TLC. After some comparisons, I swear that the neck on this thing is identical to the profile of my UV's neck, which is different from my 2027. The 7620 and the 2027 are supposed to have the same profile...but mine aren't. Additionally, the 7620's are supposed to have a 3 piece neck...mine is a one piece (again, just like my UV)

Did Ibanez put UV necks on some 7620's? Just wondering really, but it would be nice to know if anyone else has a similar deal going on.

My 7620s both have 1 piece necks. Well, if you don't count the scarf joint.

I remember reading that somewhere, too... Mine's a '99 one-peice, as well, and while i've never played the UV (i know, i'm lame), it sounds like mine'd be from the UV as well- it's noticeably thicker than the Wizard on my RG-520 i sold for it, but i just assumed it was because of the extra string.

Anyway, there was a thread about this not too long ago,i believe... I guess they did reuse some UV necks. Kinda cool, ain't it?

it doesn't really matter to me either way, I'm happy with the guitar even if I would have found that it had a Hondo neck on it.

im pretty sure it was 2000 that they switched to the wizard 7 , 3 peice neck right?before that they all had uv necks. i have a 2000 and i got a wizard 7, then the 7420 came in and used wizard 7 all the way
