Was someone looking for a 7421XL?

On the bay, item #7318584383 with a BIN of $499. I don't know the seller, but he has a ton of feedback, mostly all good. It supposedly already has a pair of DiMarzios, so $500 seems like a good deal to me and they really are great guitars.

I spotted that one too Jim. Looks like a really nice guitar. It was on E bay last week but it didn't sell. Perhaps people don't realise what it is.

The guy doesn't ship Internationally unfortunately (probably a good thing actually as I spotted something really nice this week!).

I reckon it would be a great buy for that sort of money!

Re: Was someone looking for a 7421XL?

Congratualtions Drew!

It looked like a nice guitar.
I nearly bought an RG2077XL last week but I decided against it because my fingers aren't too long and I thought I might have a bit of trouble with stretching between the lower frets, it being a 27" Scale and all.

It must have been fate anyway because something even better turned up this week.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the guitar anyway. Have Fun!!!!!!!!

Re: Was someone looking for a 7421XL?

I just bought a 7421XL (off the bay) with a broken neck. It's got a dimarzio PAF and all the hardware, etc. And apparently the fingerboard is salvagable, so i just need to build a new neck for it. Cost me $175 shipped (about £90 to me). I was really pleased with that, always wanted to try a longer scale neck.

That sounds like my old guitar. The neck was snapped by FedEx. Does it have a Hipshot bridge?

I think it does have a hipshot bridge, yes (small world huh?). I'm pleased with it (assuming it's ok when I receive it). I'll refinish the body anyway (maybe a swirl), and a neck blank is only a few £, so will only cost me the time to make the neck.
cheers,
Rich

I am really looking for a decent 7 right now. Thats what I am in the market for. I am after one I can rip for parts too, so that Eddie can make my custom body I want. I keep looking on evilbay, and am just waiting for the right one.
Good score on that 7421.

I am making one as we speak. I got a red strat body, and am doing the whole "striped" thing myself. Its coming along quite well actually, I will be sure to post pics when Im done. It works out alot cheaper doing it myself.

Having owned 33 7-strings I've gotten used to seeing my old guitars pop up from time to time, but yes, it is a small world. Other then the guitars that we build, it was my all time favorite 7 string, just a great guitar.

Here's what the neck looked like after FedEx was done with it.

Re: Was someone looking for a 7421XL?

It was definitely not my happiest moment. It actully worked out all right financially. Fedex gave me what I had paid for the guitar originally and I sold the parts for about the the amount of the upgrades.
