What are non-Ibanez mid-price 7 stringer options?

Say about the same price range as the RG 1527.
I already know about the Schecter C7 Blackjack and the Carvin 727.

Anything else I should consider? I don't like much the looks of the Ibanez, but others are hard to find or over-priced when they get to Portugal (that's Europe... )

The BC Rich 7's?
I think they are right around that ballpark ($500-$700ish).

One of my fellow guitar teachers has a student who just loves his.
I though it actually played pretty nice...

Other than that I have no idea.
Have you thought about looking for a used 7?

The ESP LTD H 207/307 comes to mind...

Nah...

Without all the frills & such, I think they are around $700?
A bass player acquaintence friend of mine has 2 Carvin basses & they seem to be very top notch.

Ibanez, Carvin, and Schecter are the only three mid-range 7's that I would consider.

I'm suprised that nobody mentioned Dean. I've only played the six stringers, but if that says anything towards the quality of the sevens, I'd say that they're worth checking out.

I would definitely try Dean, especially the EVO 7. I haven't played the Avalanche 7, but I also own the MLX 7 (same body shape as dimebag darrel's guitar). The EVO is a very versatile guitar, though it'll be harder to find and a little more expensive than an avalanche.

If you can afford it, try to find a USA Schecter - a little pricier but they're well worth it. Top quality guitars and all unique - I have three.

Conklin makes a production model seven string. It comes with either a hard tail or standard trem, I think it goes for about $500 new. It's part of thier 'Groove Tools' line.
