What is your favorite 7-string brand?
I thought it would be interesting to see what people like for 7-strings.
Me, it has to be Ibanez hands down. I own 5 of them. 2 UVs, 2 RG 7620s and an S 7420. I think Schecter, Carvin, Jackson, ESP, I could go on, makes some very nice 7s but Ibanez is my favorite. I added 7 choices.

Re: What is your favorite 7-string brand?
Have to go with Carvin.
I don't own any carvins, never played a carvin, and all my 7's are ibanez, or ibanez based customs. Yet, Carvin offers lefty 7's at no extra cost. Now if, any of the above brands offered a lefty 7 with a trem, they would be #1 with me

Where is the none section
I've never liked 7stringers
But I've voted Ibanez cos if I were a 7 stringer I will probably choose Ibanez

Then, if I may ask, what in the name of god are you doing in this forum?
Ibanez based on sheer familiarity, though Schecter's latest offerings are awesome and I'm contemplating goint the
Jackson custom shop
route...

Re: What is your favorite 7-string brand?
I've never played a high end Jackson 7, but I would love to. I can only imagine what having a 7 string Soloist lying around would do the play time n all my other guitars! I definitely liked being able to get my Carvin with a tung oiled mahogany neck, though (every single guitar in the world doesn't need a
maple neck
, why is it seemingly the only choice?). And that Carvin plays so beautifully it's silly (stain less frets,
ebony board
, etc).
If I could get from Ibanez what I caqn get from Carvin I'd have only Ibanezes at this point.

Hardly - I can't touch Shannon or Nick.
I still have to get that package in the mail to you, by the way - hopefully tomorrow.

Re: What is your favorite 7-string brand?
Mi2tom, I know very well that if you did play 7-strings, it would be Ibanez.
To me, Schecter 7s are very nice, the necks however are a tad too thick my tastes, I would love it if they slimmed the profile down a little bit on their necks. Still, they have some very nice guitars. Carvin, although i've never played one, I have always liked the looks of them. Their quilt tops are very nice (especially
Tony MacAlpine
's sig), I would love to play one. I have played a couple Jackson 7s but they were cheap and had poor craftsmanship (at least the ones I played did). I would love to play a
Custom shop
Jackson 7 as well.
I had a feeling Ibanez would lead but I thought there would be more Schecter lovers than 1. The same goes for Carvin. Sorry I didn't add Ernie Ball, those JP7s are very nice.

Re: What is your favorite 7-string brand?
Ibanez because they were as far as I know the first to put electric 7s into production (feel free to correct me) and have most experience in the business. Have no complaints about the neck feel of my 7.

Dude, I won't even have a guitar for like, 2 weeks minimum. No hurry. It'd just be a paperweight until then, and I don't even have enough papers to justify a paperweight
