D'Addario 9-42
+ a DR High Beam 56 for the low B
Standard tuning.
works pretty well for me , I've never tried a Lighter Low B string
a 52 or a 54 sounds interesting

Re: what strings do you have on your 7?

I've been rocking regular Elixir 10's with a .68 low B, but just for kicks I ordered a .56 with my last Juststrings.com order to see if I could get on with the lighter string. Really, a .62 or so would be ideal, but I'd rather have a heavier low B Elixer than a non-Elixer in any guage of my choice, the things own.

Re: what strings do you have on your 7?

I found a deal on some site, that was selling 10 packs of Daddario 6s (.10s) for like $30.. So I bought that, and bought five .56 Ernie balls (i still play 6s so have afew of those packs left) So that should do me good. Before I just had d'addarios 7 sets but someday I wanna try DRs, just so expensive

Re: what strings do you have on your 7?

Currently 9-42 +56 On mine. 56 still doesn't cut it so I might go 9-46 +58/59/60

How some people use 52 on a low B is absurd.

DR String singles in this order: 09, 11, 17, 24w, 36, 46, 56... tuned to Bb... not too flabby on the low strings while high strings are still bendable.

I normally use Daddario 9-46 + 58/60.
However I just had a friend order me some SIT 10-58s.

Ha!

You think THAT is bad!
I use an Ernie Ball 8-38 set w/ a 50 for my low B and I tune down to A#..
