I play progressive/power metal and instrumental rock. But I also like very much fingerstyle classical guitar.

I use an Ibanez JEM777DY and a nameless classical guitar, but my main is a CAT Custom guitar, 24 frets, bubinga neck with rosewood fingerboard, mahogany body, Dimarzio Evolution (neck), Custom pickup (bridge), 5 way switch plus a direct switch to the bridge pickup, and a Lo Pro Edge.

I only have a POD Pro with a Line6 floorboard, that I'll link to whatever power amp I'll buy. Right now I'm playing only with a 120 watt Drive head and Drive cabinet.

With that equipment (if you buy things because your favorite bands use them) you're a typical Limp Bizkit/Fear Factory fan. *Although, you could have just bought the same equipment by mere coincidence. *Please don't yell at me if I'm wrong.

YAY!! *I love the word plethora and I don't know why.

Anywho, my rig:

Squire Strat with DiMarzio Super Distortion
Korg Toneworks AX-1G
JVC Kaboom! RV-DP100 or Squire Sidekick S-10

I'd like to add soon:

Line6 AX2-212
Ibanez RG-7620 or UV777BK
Ibanez JEM7DBK

I play everything from Tool to Korn to Tea Party to Finger Eleven to Vai to Dream Theater to my own stuff that's influenced by all.

UV7BK,
jemBSB,
s540(w EMG's),
a screwed up RG
and a BCRich warlock.
all guitars tend to be downtuned to some lesser/higher degree.

this goes through a vox wah/gt-5/triaxis/marshall super 100w lead head(fed in through an effects loop I had built in) through 2 oldish marshall 4x12 cabs.

I use tyhis rig to play melodic death/black/thrash/anything_else metal and whatever I really feel like...

I should've clarified.
Ibanez - it's all cosmetic (white binding, knobs, pickup selector, pickup covers, & tuss rod cover)

BCRich - white binding & the Floyd Rose has a D-Tuna installed.

Les Paul - has a body finish consisting of silver nickels (yes, money). *

In the future, the BCRich & Les Paul will get new pickups. *Also, the Les Paul will receive Sperzel locking tuners.

I mostly play badly...

I use a Yamaha Pacifica 512 (not the new ones) that has an Evo in the bridge and Hotrails in the neck (phwoar!), running into a DSL401 and - if I feel the need - a Zoom 3030FX.

Simple, but it's purity of tone, man!

I play mostly badly too, in a metal kinda way, *with lots of sqwealing guitars :biggrin:
As for gear, it's pretty modest compared to the company I'm in here, but this is it:

Guitars - Ibanez UV7BK
* * * * * * *Ibanez RG7420 w/ Blaze II's in it
* * * * * * *Ovation Standard Balladeer
* * * * * * *Yamaha cheap one but well modified

Amp * * - Fender Ultimate Chorus

Effects *- Digitech RP-1
* * * * * *- Digitech Whammy II
* * * * * *- Cry Baby
* * * * * *- Boss Overdrive pedal
* * * * * *- DOD digital delay

Alden
P.S. Yam*ha mods:
(Lo-Pro Edge, Dimarzio Tone Zone(black and green) in the bridge and Fast Tracks in the middle and neck(Black w/ the rails highlighted green), Full Scalloped Neck( i had the dots painted green too, but the file took care of that ) and a Black and Red Crackled Finish), the profile of the neck has also been ummm...modified? lol ala. pull scrapper and one afternoon. The neck was originally painted black...at the time I didn't really know that unfinished necks were the way to go, but i noticed on all the cool guitars i'd seen, the necks weren't painted black. So i hauled out the pull scrapper and took all the finish off it, and while I had the scrapper out I decided it would only be proper to shave the neck down a bit... or a lot as it would happen. anyways thats the yam*ha:biggrin:
It has some bitchin' parts but plays like sh*t, it was the very bottom of the Yam*ha line up almost 10 years ago

UV777GR with Evo7 bridge and Blaze bridge for neck. Scalloped 15th-24th fret (going for the next 3 frets soon). Bb tuning (56, 46, 36, 24, 17P, 12, 9)
Boss GT-3 for effects and distortion.

Home:
Crate 15W practice amp

Live/Rehearsal:
Crate Blue Voodoo 120W with Groove tubes
----> efx loop: BBE 462 Sonic Maximizer
* * * * * * * * * * * Alesis MEQ-30
carpeted Carvin top and bottom 4 *x 12's cabinets. Forgot which model they are but it has 4 100W Carvin British Speakers per cabinet.

I try to play shred at home , but my band plays "death metal" along the lines of Cryptopsy, Suffocation, and Kataklysm. We incorporate clean/effect-based tone vs distorted tone and choatic vs. melodic structuring. I also use some finger picking technique for personal study. Otherwise, I try to play anything i feel like.
