Cool

Wheee! I've got something cool! (I think?)

Well, I came, I saw, I bidded and I won!!

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y16...illyguitar.jpg

For £121inc postage ($255) I've bought this monstrosity!! For the price, everything about it's probably terrible! Can anyone say 'unfinished frets, terrible set up, crappy trems, appalling electronics..'??
Thought so!!
But...I can refret, replace the pickups and trem, and set up the action to a sweet-T, so maybe, I have something quite cool here? (once it gets refinished in neon orange!!!)

Opinions??

Nice lookin' guitar, man, though it's probably not as banged up as yours sounds to be. ;p I'm sure it'll be a beauty once you're done with it.

I like the absurdity of having a 7-string and a 6-string. I guess it makes sense if you use a non-standard tuning on one of them.

Re: Wheee! I've got something cool! (I think?)

well, it arrives tomorrow! We'll just have to see what its like! Im thinking im going to do lots of 'Always with me, Always with you' tapping ideas on the 6 string, with the seven string ringing out the open root or 5th chord-that might be kinda cool! Well, whatever the result, I'm hoping to be able to sack the rhythm guitarist now!

(oh God, I've just thought! Where am I going to get a gigbag for this???!!! )

Re: Wheee! I've got something cool! (I think?)

Whatever it turns out to be like it's a lot of guitar(s) for the money!

A tinkerers dreams come true, lol. Hey,you could always cut it down the middle and put a piano-hinge down the back so you could 'fold' it in half for travelling! It would probably fit in a Classical guitar gig-bag when folded then too.Sheer genius!!!!!!!!!!

WARNING:These are 4AM ideas and therefore should not be taken seriously.

yeah, what are you doing up this late as well! Us British folk should have had our horlicks and been in bed long ago!

Maybe it's my un-horlicksed mind talking, but that hinge idea isn't bad!! theres probably enough slack in the pickup leads to not snap when folded!

*violin swell* "My God! It's crazy! Maybe just crazy enough to work!!!"

all shall be revealed in the next couple of days!!

Cut it in half?!? Yowza. Then you wouldn't be able to use it as a sitar. For example you could tune the 7 string to whatever key you're playing in, and pipe it through a Whammy pedal set to octave up. Its strings will resonate sympathetically with whatever you play on the 6-string. As long as the body is resonant enough this just might work.

I have no respect for the laws of nature(or most laws really) and like to show this by staying up all night, lol.

I may have been thinking about the 'Heart Guitar' triple-neck that Vai has when I came up with that idea. It separates into two parts with the aid of some sort of joining/un-joining thingy (technical term)to make it easier to take on tour.

You are right though,it could just work! EMG sell pickup leads with a neat little connector clip on the end which would enable you to separate the electrics of the two guitars in seconds. Some food for thought.Hmmmm.....

Apparently the Badger juice just wasn't sticky enough so they ended up using 'bolts and wing-nuts'. Hmmmmm......... Ponder Ponder Ponder(scratches chin thoughtfully).

Oh, and it had 'three' necks !!!!!!!!! Check it out.

Nice, I wouldn't mind one of those. I would try out some Adam Fulara style playing.

Looks like a cool instrument to mod-up and tinker with. For the price you got it for too, I would be tempted as well. Good to see it when you get it in the flesh though!
