RG2027!!! if u can find one. but the korn model doesn't look too bad, if u don't mind the stupid K-7 inlay, since it has a prestige neck, mahogany body, and dimarzio pickups.

the best value right now seems to be the rg1527 since it lists under $800 with a nice prestige neck and basswood boby.

The best value for money is gotta be the RG1527.
Getting one from nevada will set you back around £600 with case.

The best no expences spared is the UV7 at around £1450.

The K7 are solid guitars but that inlay is too much for anyone who's not into Korn.
Without the inlay and at around £800 that would have been a killer guitar.

you can probably get one at www.ibanezrules.com

if you want to see pictures of it, goto ibanezrules namm 2003 report, then click on the RG guitars.

another place that sales them is music 1 2 3 dot com if Rich doesn't have any.

It's like the now long since discontinued 7620, except it has a prestige neck (i.e. really really nice ) and the new bridge (also very very nice from what we know so far)

Basically an RG 550 with an extra string, a top of the range trem, and a hand finished neck.

As far as I can se you've got several choices:

A used UV7BK:
Cheap, look a bit dated but a pickup change will sort this out. Sound good and play fantastically well.

RG2027's:
If you can find them these are great. They won't cost you an arm and a leg, have the same body wood as the k-7, look good and play very well once setup properly. Also, you'll get your hands on piezo's which is always a bonus. You don't have t use them, but versatility is always a good thing. I play heavy music, death, thrash and black metal and love mine.

A 1077xl:
Baritone 7, will tighten up the low end a lot. In fact, for heavy music this may well be an ideal choice as your sound will tighten up, which is a good thing. THe extended scale length doesn't matter too much to be honest, you adjust really easily.

But I wouldn't get a K-7, the inlay alone just stereotypes you straight away.

That's exactly why I want one. Of course, they play really nice too.
