I don't know how they compare with other '7' pups, but they sound pretty good to my ears. Quite a lot of 'bite'. Fairly tight at the bottom, but really sing through the middle range of the guitar.

just going out on a limb here, but seeing as they're dimarzio new 7's, (same PU as the 7620 and 2027), i think a lot of that might be coming from the scale... Anyway, i've got a set of bridge and neck humbuckers i took out of a 7620 that i'd be willing to sell you cheap- e-mail me if you're interested. (I've just been using them as paper weights- kind of cool, actually.
