1 string lower !

hello

i recently got hold of a UV and 1 string is lower than the others (high b string)

its nicely setup the intonation is set etc its got a set of 9s on ive tried changing strings and it has made no difference

anybody got any idea on what can cause this and how to fix it ?

its not a huge problem as even with that one string lower it still plays fine but id love to fix it

thanks in advance

Re: 1 string lower !

if i sit as though i am about to play 1 string is closer to the fretboard , body etc than the others

basically if i lower the action more that 1 string buzzes because it is lower than the rest

if it was the same height id be able to lower my action futher without buzzing

i may be able to get a picture at some point but not at the moment

edited to be more descriptive

Re: 1 string lower !

ok i found the solution

the prev owner must have been into the habbit of screwing the locking nuts too tight and the string had basically cut a channel into the nut making that 1 string sit lower than the rest (unless that happens through normal wear and tear anyway ? )

i changed to a set of 10s to check and tadaaa problem vanished

so i guess its off shopping for a new nut or stick with 10s

thx for suggestions / help
