I am in the process of building an Ibanez. I am not sure what year or type the body is (a new-ish RG of some sort), but I have an original Edge tremolo that I would like to install.
I noticed that the flimsy trem that came out of it has two half-moon knife edges, while the older Edge has one straight edge on the top, and one half-moon on the bottom.
Question #1 -
Are the
trem posts on the newer bodies offset to accommodate this knife-edge configuration??
Or, are they symmetric in that they are the same distance apart horizontally, say from a fixed point, like the neck joint??
Im not sure if I am asking this the correct way.
Ive already
custom routed the trem cavity to accept the larger Edge tremolo. It sure would be nice if I could use it.
Question #2 -
I have been trying to find some wire at the local stores to use for rewiring pick-ups, but nobody has anything even close. Is there an acceptable substitute to using guitar wire???
Thanks-
