24.75" scale

Has anyone ever played a 24.75" scale 24 fret neck. i can get a 24 fret replacement neck with an ibanez headstock shape from moses graphite but they only do 24 frets in the 24.75" scale. is there is noticeable difference when switching from the 25.5" to a 24.75" scale. I have a 25" carvin and seem to have adjusted ok. Just wondering if anyone has one and has noticed a big difference. Thanks.

I have a 27 fret guitar with a 24.75" scale. Pretty different, for sure, but after playing it for a while it's pretty cool.

I don't think you'll have any problem with a 24 fret 24.75" scale.

Sounds awseome to me. It should feel nice and smooth. Only downside would be if you plan to detune a lot. Ten your strings may not have enough tension.

Re: 24.75" scale

well the 24 frets throws off the neck pickup's placement a little bit if your bulding a guitar that is designed to have a 24 fret neck , i am not sure exactly if you could do it because not only does the neck lenth matter but also the position of the bridge . if the guitar your putting a neck on had a 22 fret neck and your trying to put a 24 on it , it wont work . you'll either end up with a longer scale or the neck will hang over the neck pickup .

Re: 24.75" scale

Thanks for the replies. the body will be built around whatever neck I choose. I love the moses graphite necks but I could never find one in a 24 fret configuration and I am not a big fan of the strat or tele headstock, especially on a shredder type guitar. Now they offer a graphite neck with a maple winged paddle headstock that you or they can cut to any shape you want. I will probably go the 24.75" scaled moses neck. Thanks again!!
