A Bit of Rust

.. aside from my playing, that is

I have a couple axes that have acquired some rust on the bridge saddle adjustment screws and on most of the pickguard screws. Is there anything i can do about cleaning this up? If not, at the least, what can i do to keep it from getting any worse? A coat of light oil, maybe?

My Amp Tech uses WD40 on EVERYTHING.

He scrubs amps, screws, trems with a toothbrush and WD 40 to clean and
protect it.

It certainly helped with my Laney heads that had some corrosion from
years of sitting in a garage. The damn thing looked better then new!

But I'm not sure if you would want that on your trem if your palm muting
and stuff.

The screws wouldn't be a big deal..

i wipe clean w/ a clean dry reag first, then another rag w/ some WD40 sprayed on the rag to "polish" and protect. for used guitars with corrosion already, i'll pull the rusty part, spray it down w/ WD40, let it sit for a few hours, spray it again and scrub w/ an old toothbrush, wipe down and may repeat, but if not i'll use compressed air to blow the dirt and rust out, then wipe again. this is really effective for old floyd roses and fender type trems.

Sounds good... I'll give it a try. I do a lot of palm muting so may have to live with a bit of residue in the bridge area.
