a guitar neck?

when placing a neck back on a guitar, how tight does one have to tighten the screws. i dont want to end up striping the screw holes in the neck, but i dont want it to be so losse that it would end up causing damege to the neck from the pull of strings.

Torque does not translate well to written word. You want it tight, but not gorilla tight. Just use common sense.

That's not an easy question to answer. Tight enough but not too tight. They need to be pretty tight ... enough that there isn't any flex in the joint. You just have to do it by feel. And listen to the wood. If it's cracking, you are too tight. If you are stripping the screw heads, you are too tight.
