Question

Action/Buzzing/Ignorance problems here... help appreciated!

Hi everyone
I bought an RG470 off the bay and I received it a few days ago.
As the guitar came from the USA to argentina they sent me the neck unbolt from the body, and I thought i would just have to put the bolts in (so that's what i did ) and now i've got kind of a high action (5mm on low E and 4.x on high E) and still have some buzzing on the higher frets 12-24 and what's worse, i've got buzzing on the open G string :S

I've read a lot on this forums and thech sections from here, ibanezrules and projectguitar.com and i thought I might have a back bow on the necke... but I tried looking at it pressing on the last fret on low E and the neck is really straight (no bow forward or backwards) so i really don't know what to do with this.

I also remember a little piece of cardboard in between while attaching the neck to the body, but I can't remember what i did with it LOL (think I left it exactly where I found it).

Any help would be reaaaaally appreciated.
if somone wants pics of the guitar or the neck to check the angle just pm me or tell me where should I upload them and I'll post the links

Thank you very much for at least reading this.

Okay so the little piece of cardboard = your neck shim. What youll want to do is remove your neck again, and replace it witha similar size shim or hopefullyt he sme one. I doubt that the neck is dead straight. You have 5mm on the low E? Thats very very very high. For example the average truss rod adjustment wrench is 4mm so you sure your measurements arent a tad high? So i would argue that your neck is backbowed considerably due to having the neck removed. Fret a note at the twelth fret, how much room do have from the first fret up between the string? Your shim will get certain things back in order, but i doubt highly that your neck is dead straight with 5mm action >.>
