Action Height - trems vs fixed bridges

OK, I have various guitars with Edges/Floyds and also fixed bridge guitars. * I always seem to be able to get the action ultra-low on my Edge equipped guitar while the fixed bridge guitars all have slightly higher action. *

My theory is that I can get the action lower on the trem guitar due to the fact that when I bend a string the trem angles a bit forward and thus raises the string height while I'm bending, so less fret buzz. *If I try to set the string height on my fixed bridge guitars like my trem guitars they all fret out or buzz when I bend the string. *Oh yeah and everything else setup-wise is similar in terms of neck relief, nut height etc..

Anybody else have a similar experience? *Or am I just nuts?

Action Height

Yes, this is a bonus of the floating trem. The disadvantage is the other notes going flat as you bend. It's all a tradeoff ...glen

Action Height

I angle my necks slightly on all my floyd guitars now and find I get better action from them......
