action rising everytime i restring...

Hi there. Iv noticed that everytime i restring my RG that the action sucks ass. Its only after a month or so of using the strings that it feels nice.
Is this a common problem, and does the action need to be altered each time you restring, or do i just suck at it?

I *felt* like that was happening to me too, but I wasn't sure if it was just in my head....because I don't understand what could cause that if you maintained the trem angle and didn't adjust the posts -- or why it would seem back to normal later. I haven't looked, but does Rich address that on his tech page?

No idea, it's been a few years since I had a regular player I was changing strings on. And tell you the truth I was always tweaking my setup whenever I changed strings anyway, it's called maintanence

could that be caused because of the new strings tighten more than the old ones? the trem lifts up a tiny bit and the neck gets up-bowing a bit as well.
maybe the sum of those two little alterations makes the action a little higher?

just an idea...

Yeah i reckon its just that the old strings were slightly loses compared to brand spanking new ones so its probably cuasing a small amount of bow.

At first i thought i was imagening it due to the feel of noew strings (hate them until a few days of real hard playing), but it does it all the time. Think ill just have to do some adjusting when i restring from now on
