adjusting tightness of trem arm on floating trem? :(

i remember reading somewhere about something you could do to adjust how tightly the tremolo arm sits in itīs slot on double locking trems... i use an edge III trem on my ibanez, and i donīt want to do the nail-polish thing, as i want to be able to remove it too, i donīt use it that much... but when i do use it, iīd like it to stay in one place where i can access it, without having to hold it while playing or stopping to pick it up...

I use PTFE tape, I dont know if you call it that in Norway. Its the white tape you use in plumbing to put around threaded nuts etc. It really thin, so a couple of wraps on the tram arm before fitting the nylon bushes is all you need and its just right!

Take bushings off apply two wraps of tape

Replace Bushings

we're talking about the Edge-III which has a different arm and arm-holder system. you have to tighten these two screws:

not very necessary to tighten the both of them, just better.

you don't need to take the trem off though, you can reach the top one by dropping the bar to the body and shovin a balled up rag under the trem.

Me too. Works like a charm on the Edge/Lo-Pro Edge/Edge Pro arms.
