always fret buzz after changing strings

y is it everytime i change the strings on my guitar, the first 2 strings always have fret buzz (usually fret 1-4)
kinda angry since everytime i get it setup nicely, it starts buzzing again when i put on new strings

some info
i use the same string brand everytime
my rg is blocked
i change strings one at a time

do i hav to fiddle with the truss rod or somethin? (which i dont like doing)

Re: always fret buzz after changing strings

Odd for sure. I've never had this trouble but there are a few things to consider. Is the nut too low? Maybe it needs to shimmed slightly. Is the truss rod adjusted correctly for a small relief? Is the neck faulty and in need of planing? Kudos for changing strings one at a time. SOunds like maybe you need a better luthier that can diagnose a tough problem. Or maybe buy another neck and see if it helps. If it doesn't, you could sell the extra neck of keep it for a spare.

i doubt its the neck since the guitar is only 1 years old, because i leave my guitar out maybe its because of the central heater in my house the changing room temperatures mite have caused it to shift a bit

You might get your local luthier to put a short straight-edge on the neck to see if the first 5-6 fret area might actually have a slight back-bow. As long as necks are made of wood, the are capable of almost anything.

Re: always fret buzz after changing strings

New string will always highlight any fret buzz (they're new, so brighter sounding) so it is't something to worry about. As strings age they lose that brightness so the buzzing become less audible, and they stiffen slightly so they buzz less in the first place.

If all you are doing is changing the strings, then you don't need to mess with the truss rod. This is of course assuming that your guitar is set up well in the first place.

This is the reason why you set a guitar up with new strings, not old knackered ones!
