Amp Fuse Help!
I have a
Laney
LC15 amp, and the HT
fuse
blew the other night. The fuse is 0.1A, 250V. I've looked in every store possible, and nobody has even heard of .1A fuses. I found them online and ordered a few, but they won't be here for a few days, and I want to play over the weekend. The closest I can find in stores is .5A, and a guy at a repair shop told me that using .5A won't have any effect on the amp. Does anybody know if this is true, it's already been 2 days, and I'm dying to play.

Re: Amp Fuse Help!
The
amp
will work with 0.5A fuse, but, the tubes won't be properly protected. If a fault with one of the tubes caused the fuse to blow, and you haven't changed the tubes, then you could damage the amp. If you have some spare power tubes (EL 84 or 6BQ5), you could replace them both, hopefully fixing the problem and then decide if you want to risk the amp! (I wouldn't)

Yeah, maybe I'll just go unplugged for the weekend, the fuses should be here Monday. Thanks for the quick response Vim!

Quit being a baby and wait. It won't kill you if you don't play for a few days.

Shame on you, don't speak like that!
You might be able to hook up your cable into your computer and play through your speakers. I've done that with my bass before, so it should work for guitar.

I'm not being a baby about it. I was just clarifying something that an electronics repair guy suggested to me, something that could have caused permanent damage to my amp. I apologize if my question offended you.

Oh yeah, I forgot I have garage band on my mac. I've never really liked using it, but beggars can't be choosers in this case. Thanks for the tip!
