Hi all,
I took delivery of the final piece of wood today that is going into my mahogany bodied, maple necked,
ebony fretboard custom JEM
The guitar will be created completely from scratch.
I'll be getting some help along the way from 2 sources, the first being a majorly talented wood-working friend and the second being my missus (she works for Makita so all tools are at my disposal)
I estimate the project will take me approx 3 months, mainly due to work/time commitments and I'm hoping to start within 1-2 weeks.
The grain in the mahogany looks a real stunner, so a translucent finish appears to be a must!
As soon as samsung manage to mail me a new twain driver *

this will turn into a complete photographic and text documentary, I'll start at the start (always a good point I think)

, up to completetion.
What I'd like from anyone who cares is hardware suggestions (still undecided, save for the fact that this won't be a lo-pro/floyd
equipped guitar) and colour of finish.
I just hope I can give you all a great ride with me along the way!
Wish me luck
Thanks
Steve
