anyone notice...

that when you take off your trem and go to reattach the springs it requires a near olympic tug on them bastards, i let go of one while almost stretched all the way(i use 2 springs in arrow formation with 9s so its quite the hell stretch) and it rocketed across the room and dented my door. Anyone found an easier way of reattaching them?

LMAO! Yeah, those things can be lethal dude.

Are you using needle-nose pliers? I attach the looped end first then grab the L shaped bit with the pliers and pop it into the block.

Re: anyone notice...

I believe there is a picture in the Ibanez Rules tech section that demonstrates a very important tip. When using needle nosed pliers, apply downward pressure with your other (free) hand to guide/force the hooked end of the spring down into the block. Then if you accidentally release the spring with the pliers, the spring won't fly away, potentially damaging the guitar, your eye, your door,...

Bunch of girls on this site...

I use my fingers...
Press the bridge on my knee and then pull it the rest of the way with my fingers.

Re: anyone notice...

good techniques. I ended up just putting the L shaped piece in first then stretching the spring out, getting the looped end barely on, then pushing it down with my fingers, I'll be sure to use these techniques the next time tho. I wonder if Kahlers shoot ball bearings across the room?

Me too, except I use pliers now to grip the L shaped bit. I've had a few nasty blisters and various chunks missing from my fingers in the past from using my hands, meaning I couldn't play the damn guitar for days! It's all very well being macho, but if you can't play the guitar because a string gets stuck in your cut and rips the flesh out even more, it's not big and it's not clever!

sure Mr.Nacho Vidal, but you know, it sometimes happens that the springs are stretched all the way till the claw reaches the cavity. there's no way to hook up the springs with fingers, unless they have hooks on their tips.
