Best option for replacing a Pro Rock'r

Hi guys, I have a 1985 metallic purple RS440, it has a Pro Rock'r trem that I'd like to replace.

I've searched and read a lot of threads but I haven't come across a definitive thread about the best replacement options in terms of swapping in an Edge, Floyd or Kahler (or other good trem) and which route would be easiest, leaving the guitar looking good and playing well.

Anyone have any success stories to share, or pics of the project?

Thanks guys.

that trem is a legendary predecessor to the edge, I would keep that guitar stock if I were you!

Those trems suck hard, and parts are impossible to find. I think I'd try to go with an Edge, but the guitar would really need to be worth the effort (like an '85 Marine AR350 or something) before I would actually swap it.

Is this work you are planning to do yourself, possibly? If so I think you should pull it and take a bunch of measurements to see what you've got to work with. You should be able to get specs on the sizes and requirements of the the options fairly easily, so maybe 'best fit' is the best option here.

I actually like them.

Is the pro rocker recessed in any way on the RS440?
