BLOCKING A ZR TREM

I searched for about 2 hours last night and couldnt find any definite answers on blocking a ZR trem. I found one post somewhere that someone said the Tremol-no wont work on a ZR, but I could never find anything saying how or even if you could do it.

I know one of you guys here has to know the answer.

The reason I want to block it is because I hardly ever use it. First I bought an Ibanez RGT6EXFX because I thought it looked cool and didnt have a trem but there were several problems with it so I decided to just go ahead and buy an S5470 SOL. It has a ZR trem and plays and sounds really good overall. I can unblock it later if I want to.

Thanks in advance.

Why not just not put the arm on it so you won't feel tempted to use it?

Re: BLOCKING A ZR TREM

you could fit a block of wood behind the sustain block

or.. you could just put the zps bar in?

I didnt know the zps bar would prevent the trem from moving. Thanks for the replies.

Re: BLOCKING A ZR TREM

Just pull the extra springs and bar that make up the ZR system from the trem cavity and put some blocks of wood around the trem block. I did that on my S470 and it was rock solid. Just measure either one or two pieces of wood depending on how you prefer to do it and wedge them right in there, problem solved.
