Re: Bore Doctor/Fret Doctor

I use Bore Doctor and it is really really good, I am not sure the difference between it and Fret Dr. , i think they are made by the same company. I bought it from the main Bore Dr page not beafifer.com

(edit: shows you how much my memory works nowadays with my migraines)
apparently I did buy it from beafifer.com

Re: Bore Doctor/Fret Doctor

I think both are the same. One just comes in a larger bottle.
In the letter I got with my order he explains that he just put it into larger than 10ml vials for guitarists.

Might as well buy Fret Dr. next time then! But I wanted to test it first anyway so the small bottle was a good idea at first.

Why? Can't guitarists find the small bottles because they're too vain to wear their glasses?

(Waiting for someone to patiently explain the blindingly obvious).

I'm quite happy with Dr Duck's Ax Wax. Good stuff, not too dissimilar (and comes in a big bottle too!).

Fretboards are much bigger in surface area than the inside of most woodwind bores. Thus for each application of Fret doctor, more liquid is used. The liquid inside is designed for woodwind bores but he noticed that he was getting a lot of orders for multiple small bottles, from guitarists who had discovered how good it is.

As for Dr Ducks...well personally I think you'd be well surprised if you gave Fret Doctor a try. For one thing, it really penetrates the wood, so the board stays oiled a lot longer.

Re: Bore Doctor/Fret Doctor

Edmund Boyle is an unreal great guy an really gets into selling his Fret Doctor. I ordered it, it came fast and the information support and advantages over other oils (i.e Dr. Ducks) is made apparent and I believe in it fwiw.
