I have a quick question for the tech gurus regarding FR type bridges on non-Ibanez's.
I just picked up an old U.S.A. Hamer Diablo and have done the setup (oiled fretboard, polished frets, new strings, bridge balancing). When you are balancing the bridges on an Ibanez, you want the
base plate to be parallel to the body, right?
When I set the bridge like this on the Diablo, the bridge seems to be sucked down too far in the back (the body slopes down by the bridge). Would I want the bridge paralled to the neck, or parallel to the body.
I guess this question could apply to Ibanez's with the necks shimmed as well as the necks no longer sit perfectly parallel to the body. Am I just splitting hairs over a very minute degree?
Sorry if this is a noob question but, well, I'm a noob!
Thanks!
