Bridge height - various levels?
Is it possible to have various bridge height between the
higher and
lower strings
or must there be the same bridge height? Maybe a silly question, but I'm unsure.
Thanks Wolfgang *

Bridge height
I think I've seen another thread about this, but I'm sure that the low E side is usually higher because of the thicker
guage strings
.

Actually the high E side is usually slightly higher due to less output. The thinner strings don't produce as much vibrations as the low, thicker strings and thus are placed a little closer to the pickup so that all strings sound clear and level with each other. And you especially dont want to drown out the
high strings
while playing the low ones, which will happen unless setup right...Or if your pickup sucks...

Madwell, it sounds like we both have the same idea. *I was talking about bridge height and I think you're talking about
pickup height
.

I mean i have lowered the bridge on the high strings
more than on the lower strings because on the same hight they are buzzing. Is this wrong?

Bridge height
Thicker strings need more room to vibrate than thinner ones, so you will find that the low E will need to be hgher than the high E, as it is thicker, has more mass, and needs more space to avoid it buzzing.

I'm unsure with the trem angle. It is said, the measure
point is on the high string side of the trem ( 1,5 mm).
This is correct, but on the low string side the angle is now much more. Does that matter ?
