Bring back the BACKSTOP - (pretty please?)

Come on, how many of you would buy one (the tremsetter type device)?

Sorry, I don't mess with my Maxxas. *It's too good and too rare. You don't need it, trust me...

Bring back the BACKSTOP

texter,
you think it doesn't work cause you're not able to set it up correctly.
once i've learnt how to set it up, i've understood how much and well that thing works.
i think Vai has quite a good reason to put it on many of his Ibys.
learn to set things before to put crap on them.

nuno

ps: Ibanez guys should refer to Jemsite as THE users guide: bring back the BackStop, please!

Bring back the BACKSTOP

Woo-hoo! *I scored one from Rich, I still wish Ibanez would bring them back. *Now the only problem is that I hear there are a ton of ways to set these things up. *Any suggestions? *I am mainly looking for more tuning stability and if possible, to not go out of tune on double stops or broken strings.

BackStop:
- tuning stability
- in tune bendings
- in tune string break

Tremsetter:
- in tune string break

here's a pic of the BackStop on my '87 540R:

Could somebody please explain how this keeps *in tune bending*? There is nothing about a Backstop to keep the bridge from pulling forward when you bend a string. A *Tremsetter* on the other hand does.

the backstop can provide pressure against the trem in float position, hence helping the bends if you set it up that way.

it would be a nice option for Ibanez to sell today, but i guess they were not important/popular... glen

OK, I follow that, extra spring pressure to counteract the forward pressure the Backstop applies if setup that way. That makes sence.
