Question

Buying guitar today!!! Tremol-No on an Edge Zero?

Hello All,

I need your help quick because I'm looking at buying a RG2570z today!

I need to know if a tremol-no will work on an Edge Zero trem...?

On their site it says it works with Edge Pro, and Edge Pro II, but I haven't been able to find anything online about this trem locking device working with an Edge Zero.

Are there any major difference between and Edge Pro and Edge Zero that would cause the Tremol-No to not be compatible? If this won't work, what other products will work?

If anyone has any experience with this or has actually installed a Tremol-No on an Edge Zero, please respond, your advice is needed greatly!

Thank you! =D

I don't think it will work. You don't need it anyway with and Edge Zero

Forgive me, as I'm not familiar with these Edge trems, I've never owned an Ibanez before. Does the trem have the ability to "lock" itself?

How can I lock or stabilize the trem without using any sort of blocking device, or chunks of wood or other materials as I've seen elsewhere?

Yes, with the Edge Zero, you can "lock" the bridge.

You completely misunderstand the ZPS.

You can't use the T No on the EZ, and you can't lock it.

Rich,

Thanks for the info on not being able to use a tremol-no on the Edge Zero. So now I know that, and that the trem can't "lock" itself either.

What product would you suggest (if any) for the edge zero if I wanted to lock/block it, or would I have more luck going the block o' wood route?

Thanks

I don't think there's anything made that will work on it. And if you're going the permanent wood block, why? Buy a fixed bridge.

Re: Buying guitar today!!! Tremol-No on an Edge Zero?

Well, the RG2570z was a steal so I couldn't really turn it down. I have 30 days in which I can try it out and return it if for some reason I wind up really not liking it, I just figured I'd give it a try first to see if the tremolo really jives with me. I've been playing nothing but fixed bridges up until now. I've only seen the RGA321 Prestige with the fixed bridge, and I'm sure that's quite a bit more than what I paid for this guitar.

The tremel-no seemed like a nice non-permanent solution for locking the bridge, I'm disappointed it won't work on the edge zero. I didn't know that the block of wood approach was a permanent... as I said before, I've never used a tremolo, I'm just going off of the small amount I've learned the past couple days.

I don't want to permanently alter the bridge yet anyway, I'd just like to have the option to lock it and unlock it. Oh well. Maybe there will be another product for this bridge in the future.

Thanks for your help guys!

its not THAT permanent. I mean, its just wedging the block into place. You could do that and still take it out later. Its just not as easy access.
